About Grade 6
Typically aged 11-12, students in Grade 6 have a challenging but fun curriculum with increased in-depth technical work, with a stronger emphasis on Maths, Science, Writing and Geo-politics but this has to be balanced with the emotional challenges of nascent adolescence. Social dynamics, too, become more complex, as they and their friends develop their personalities, thoughts and opinions. this is the time they start thinking about the future and their place in it. Your child now will start to experience a greater sense of responsibility, and an increased attention span, but also a rapid changing of interests and a questioning of authority. At this critical time before the teen years, its best to approach the balance of education and other aspects of their lives with a calm gentle manner.

The first steps into Primary school
This rapidly developing age is when children need loving guidance.
At around the ages of 6-7 years children typically develop rapidly with increasing height, better coordination, athleticism and also locomotor skills like running and jumping and catching a ball. They have a lot of energy and physical activity is very important to healthy development. It is for this reason that our program is carefully calibrated makes sure to allow for shorter theory sessions and plenty of revision breaks so children have time to play in-doors and also be active outdoors.

Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills too improve such as writing and drawing, tying shoelaces, buttoning shirts. This is a good time to encourage these activity but its very important not to compare as around this age different children develop at different rates. This is why we have in-built flexibility in our program so that you can choose which sessions to do, when, also do them at your own pace.

Emotional Development
Emotional development markedly increases aswell as children are more aware of their feelings and the feelings of others and have more self-control. As they develop complex friendships and become increasing independent within the family unit it is very important to give them the time and routine to think through these feelings and our program has a whole Thinking Field dedicated to Emotions and Intra-cerebral thoughts that children do everyday.

Social Development
Social development too increases as children place great value on their friendships and want to be liked and show their talents. Even if you are home-schooling it is important to let children regularly meet peers so they can learn to share, play and also learn to constructively work through any arguments that may arise.
Cognitive Development
In grade 6, children aged 11-12 experience significant cognitive growth as they continue to advance in their academic journey. At this stage, they demonstrate a greater capacity for abstract thinking, problem-solving, and critical reasoning. Their ability to understand complex concepts and apply them in various contexts continues to expand, laying a strong foundation for future academic success.
