Children learning to cooperate and bringing those skills into adulthood has been the one of the main drivers of the development of our societies through time. To build civilisations we have needed a person to think about and balance their own needs and wants with another person’s needs and wants so we could as a society organise resources and face challenges and opportunities throughout history.
About Co-existence
At ROK Learning our Thinking Field is unique, in that it not only covers the history of human society, but also looks to the future and the part that children will play in the future.
Societies develop through different stages from nomadic hunting and gathering, to rural and then agrarian, followed by urbanization, commercial, industrial, and post-industrial societies. We shed light on the meaning of society by comparing and contrasting how people lived decades ago, centuries ago or even thousands of years ago. At each stage we get children thinking about why these changes took place and simultaneously how these same changes may impact today’s societies as well as societies existing well into the future. Topics such as food, industrialization, pollution and climate change will be explored. We also incorporate ‘Physical culture’ to take the teaching of cultural practices from history books to actively ‘doing’.
By discussing Anthropology, History, Law, Political Science, Geography and Linguistics in everyday settings and in a natural language, we can guide them to analyse the world and their own place in society and ultimately help them understand how they will play a key role in shaping society for the future.
“We initiated ROK Learning to free children from statically absorbing academic facts to instead being critical thinkers and innovators.”

How our system works
Each session covers a new topic which altogether form part of our systematic curriculum, so that by the end of the year your child will have received knowledge and done exercises and quizzes across a vast knowledge area. When you log in to each session, on any given day you will find either a write-up or a video or an activity. Our program is designed to really get children thinking and learning new and unique things, and thinking more innovatively and creatively. Every month the 16 new topic sessions are supported by 8 revision sessions that builds on their earlier knowledge and encourage cross-functional thinking.
